Spring is in the air...

It could have been a coincidence that the sun was shining yesterday...It was the first day of March which always feels like Spring is finally on the way. It was also St David's Day, which is a good day for us Welshies. But whatever the reason it felt nice to see the sun streaming through the house yesterday morning, and something told me that it was going to be a good day.

It started off with an early trip to the park in my favourite part of Cheltenham, Montpellier which is packed full of gorgeous regency buildings and cute little chic shops, bars and coffee houses.
Evan and I played ball, swung on the swings and sat in the park coffee shop drinking our drinks and eating our biscuits whilst the sun warmed our faces...it was just lovely.

I then took myself off at lunch time for a cheeky little cut and blow dry, which to be fair was long overdue.
I sat in the hairdressers with my trashy magazines, my latte and thoroughly enjoyed a little bit of precious me time...which was also long overdue..

I came out of the hairdressers feeling great. My hair was looking big and bouncy...just the way I like it and the way I wished it looked every day, but sadly doesn't....proof below!

When I got home Mr T suggested that we make the most of the sunshine and head out for a family bike ride. I feel a little guilty now that at first I was thinking I might pass as it seemed a shame to flatten my lovely new blow dry and go from big and bouncy to this....

However, I quickly realised that I was being ridiculous and that a family bike ride in the sunshine would be a lovely thing to do. Now, for those of you that read my post back in January documenting our first family bike ride, you will know that it was far from successful, in fact I think it's fair to say that it was a bit of a disaster. Evan pretty much hated every minute we were on the bikes, and cried and winged until we eventually gave up and cycled home. So it was with a little trepidation that we ventured out yesterday for round two!

But I am happy to report that it was a great success. In stark contrast to our first outing, instead of the crying and winging it was laughter and smiles all the way. The sound of his laughter as we raced along the country lanes will stay with me for a long time. There are few better sounds than that of your child properly belly laughing.

We then decided to be really cheeky and called into our local pub for a quick beer for dad and vino for mam. Here we are sat in the sunshine of the beer garden enjoying a drink and some scampi fries..classy eh!!

Of course normal service has resumed today. We managed a quick hour in the park this morning whilst contending with the wind and the drizzle, but the rest of the day has been a right off on the weather front and a return to indoor activities.

However, I went to bed last night with a smile on my face, as I had really enjoyed the day from start to finish, and I have no doubt that this was in no small part down to the glorious weather. Whilst I am writing this on a miserable wet Sunday afternoon whilst the rain slashes against the window, at least yesterday gave me a sneaky peak of the family fun that is hopefully ahead in the spring and summer...I literally cannot wait....

Thanks for reading
